Rich Maha Indian Restaurant

5 out of 5

We have managed to get all three kids involved in Cubs - that means a full hour off child care once a week. So what do we do? We go to Rich Maha for a grown-up dinner!

It’s not even remotely fancy - the decor is travel posters, and the tables are plain. You grab your own cutlery. But the staff are invariably friendly, the prices are reasonable, the range is huge, and most dishes I’ve tried have been great.

The roti is made fresh and real from acutal dough - you can spy on the cook making it - that’s a huge plus! The curries, served bain-marie style, are tasty, and not too spicy (the eggplant is a favourite), although I have to say, not served piping hot. Which I would prefer. The masala dosai (that’s a huge, thin pancake rolled around a filling) makes heads turn when it’s served.

Mr Spring Chook is fond of the Lassi, while I delight in a hot, sweet mug of Tea Tare - strong tea bubbled up with condensed milk!

We love it, and best of all, it’s so close to home. Mr Spring Chook reports that they have another branch in the city - near his office!

I have lived in Vermont South for years and you are right, this little restaurant has doubled in size always has lots of people eating at the tables inside and out. The people are from all cultures and ages groups. It really is the diamond in the rough. Come try the very yummy found, you will not be disappointed. :)

I have three kids. Two of 'em are twins. The other one isn't. I am trying to keep the house more tidy. I like doing craft. I like to write. I like Lego, tea cups, and shiny things. I drink a lot of tea. I join committees and help make things happen.
